Striking while the football iron is hot, the official website and accounts for BLUE LOCK today announced that the much-anticipated second season of the hit anime series will kick off on Japanese television from Saturday, October 5 at 23:30 JST and will air for 14 episodes.
Two more cast members were also announced, who will debut alongside Chiaki Kobayashi, Eiji Mikami and Kakeru Hatano in the upcoming sequel:

Based on the award-winning manga by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Yusuke Nomura, Tetsuaki Watanabe (Haikyu!! episode director) directed BLUE LOCK with assistant direction by Shunsuke Ishikawa (Sword Art Online Alicization episode director) at studio eightbit (That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime). Ishikawa served as director for the -EPISODE NAGI- movie.
