The public bathhouse is the setting for a bloody good time, because Babanbabanban Vampire, an upcoming TV anime based on the BL (“Bloody Love-Comedy”) manga by Hiromasa Okujima, has revealed the main staff, key cast members, a teaser trailer, and a teaser visual. The series will broadcast in Japan as part of TV Asahi’s “IMAnimation” programming block beginning in January 2025.

The original Babanbabanban Vampire manga is serialized in Akita Shoten’s Bessatsu Shonen Champion manga magazine. Itsuro Kawasaki writes and directs the TV anime at animation studio GAINA with assistant direction from Takahiro Tamano. Yukiko Ban serves as character designer and chief animation director, Manami Minakata serves as assistant character designer, and Jun Ichikawa of Julydex provides the music.

The story of Babanbabanban Vampire centers on Ranmaru Mori, a live-in part-timer at a long-established public bathhouse, whose true identity is a 450-year-old vampire. He is in search of the ultimate taste, “the blood of an 18-year-old virgin,” and continues to protect the virginity of the only son of the bathhouse, 15-year-old Rihito. However, when Rihito reaches puberty, he falls in love at first sight with a girl in the same class! Ranmaru’s desperate plan to stop him from losing his virginity begins…!
