The official website for the TV anime Mission: Yozakura Family has announced the performers of the opening and ending theme songs for its upcoming second cour.
The new opening theme song “Secret Operation” is performed by anisong unit fripSide, under the artist name fripSide feat. Yoshino Nanjo. As its name suggests, the song features Yoshino Nanjo, the unit’s second vocalist, as the lead singer. Nanjo left the unit in April 2022, and since then Mao Uesugi and Hisayo Abe have performed as the vocalists in the unit’s Phase 3 period. Nanjo says, “This time, I collaborated with fripSide’s phase 3, and it was a precious experience for all three vocalists to sing a song that is both fast-paced and dramatic. I hope you enjoy the colors of each vocalist! The lyrics are also expressed from fripSide’s unique perspective, so we hope you enjoy them as well!”The CD single of “Secret Operation” is set to release in Japan on August 21, 2024.
Meanwhile, the new ending theme song “Kekkon Koushinkyoku” (Wedding March) is performed by two-member unit ASOBI Doumei. The unit consisting of Tokumikusu (guitar) and RiMy (vocal) was formed in 2021 and this is their second anime theme song work following “Daremo Karemo Dokomo Nanimo Shiranai” (I don’t know anyone, anywhere, anything), the ending theme for the 2023 TV anime Heavenly Delusion. The members say, “We are on a huge mission to be in charge of the second ending theme of Mission: Yozakura Family, which we have both been big fans of for a long time…! We will do our best to carry it out!”The CD single of “Kekkon Koushinkyoku” is also set to release in Japan on August 21, 2024.
The anime adaptation of Hitsuji Gondaira’s romantic comedy mange premiered in Japan on April 7, 2024, and has streamed in worldwide markets on Hulu and Disney+. Mirai Minato (BOFURI: I Don’t Want to Get Hurt, so I’ll Max Out My Defense) serves as director at SILVER LINK.The manga, created by Hitsuji Gondaira, is serialized in the pages of Weekly Shonen Jump magazine since August 2019, with 20 collected volumes published to date.
