Following the broadcast of TSUKIMICHI -Moonlit Fantasy- Season 2’s 25th and final episode in Japan, the official website and accounts for the anime series revealed that a third season is officially greenlit, hammering home the welcome announcement with the festive visual pictured above.Additional details about the sequel, such as release date and production staff, were not announced at the time of reporting.
Based on the light novels by Kei Azumi and Mitsuaki Matsumoto, Shinji Ishihira (Log Horizon) directs both seasons of TSUKIMICHI -Moonlit Fantasy-, with series composition by Kenta Ihara (Saga of Tanya the Evil) and character designs by Yukie Suzuki (The Idaten Deities Know Only Peace animation director). J.C.STAFF took over from C2C as the animation studio for Season 2.Crunchyroll streams the first two seasons in a range of subs and dubs, describing the fantasy adventure as such:
Makoto Misumi was just an average teenager who suddenly was summoned to another world as a “hero.” But the goddess of this world called him ugly and took his hero status away from him, then sent him to the ends of the world. He meets dragons, spiders, orcs, dwarves, and many other non-human races in the wastelands. Makoto manages to show promise in the use of magic and fighting, which he wouldn’t have been able to do in his former world. He has numerous encounters, but will he be able to survive this new world? A fantasy where a guy who gods and humanity had abandoned tries to reset his life in this new world is about to begin!
