Anisong singer LiSA released a new artist photo for her new song, “Black Box” following the news that the song will be featured as the opening theme for the upcoming second cour of the TV anime NieR:Automata Ver1.1a. The song is also featured in the anime’s latest trailer.”Black Box” is written and composed by Hiromu Akita, the vocalist and guitarist of the Japanese rock band Amazarashi. The band provided the ending theme for the anime’s first cour, “Antinomy.” “When I heard that ‘NieR: Automata,’ which is loved by people all over the world for a long time, was going to be made into an anime, I was one of those people who were excited and delighted. I love this work,” said LiSA. “This time, amazarashi’s Akita-san, who is deeply and profoundly attached to Nier, entrusted me with ‘Black Box.’ I sang this song, overlaying my heart on the emotions of these girls, which are so pure and beautiful that they make my mind tighten. Please join us in witnessing their story together with the music until the very end.”
LiSA also posted a message video on YouTube about the opening theme. After introducing the song, she added, “Akita-san has been making music for Nier for a long time, and this time, the music is really wonderful but heartbreaking, snuggling up to the work. NieR:Automata Ver1.1a Cour 2 new trailer
