ZEGAPAIN STA, an upcoming theatrical anime film that tells the story of what came after the conclusion of the 2006 ZEGAPAIN TV anime, has published new trailers and a new key visual (below) and revealed four new cast members for the film. ZEGAPAIN STA hits Japanese theaters on August 16, 2024.

Masami Shimoda, the director of the 2006 ZEGAPAIN TV anime, directs ZEGAPAIN STA at animation studio Sunrise. Katsuhiko Takayama provides the script for the film, while Aako Otsuka provides the music.

Sunrise describes the story of ZEGAPAIN as follows:
Kyo is a cheerful boy living in the suburbs of Maihara in Chiba. He’s a normal high school student whose life is busy with the swim team, friends, and romance. But one day a mysterious transfer student named Sizuno suddenly appears and guides him into another world — a world of giant robots and the conflicts he must become a part of. The more battles he survives, the more questions he is consumed by, but Kyo must fight through his anguish and commit himself to combat to save himself and his friends.
