Popular anime-inspired free-to-play game Genshin Impact dipped further into the animesphere this week by releasing its brand new animated short, The Road Not Taken. The short dishes out more lore of the game through a poem performed by HOYO-MiX and featuring Aimer, who is known for writing and singing the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Entertainment District Arc opening “Zankyosanka.”
This is the second time Aimer has sung for Genshin Impact, with the singer performing “End of All” at this year’s New Year’s Party livestream.
While no staff were credited for the short, miHoyo have a dedicated 2D-based “Genshin Impact” animation team, as revealed in a video interview posted on Bilibili with Donghua Xueshu Pa, who previously produced The Song Burning in the Embers animated short which released in April with the same lack of credits.
