People just can’t get enough of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End.
It’s been a little over two months since the anime adaptation of the manga series of the same name written by Kanehito Yamada and illustrated by Tsukasa Abe ended and people are buying up the original series in droves just to see how it continues.
The official Twitter account for the Frieren franchise announced tonight that thanks to many re-prints of the manga, over one million copies have been printed (physically) and sold (digitally) over the past month, bringing the overall total to 21 million copies for the entire manga series.
Keiichiro Saito (BOCCHI THE ROCK!) directed the Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End anime at studio MADHOUSE, which ended on March 22, 2024. Crunchyroll is streaming the series and describes the story as such:
After the party of heroes defeated the Demon King, they restored peace to the land and returned to lives of solitude. Generations pass, and the elven mage Frieren comes face to face with humanity’s mortality. She takes on a new apprentice and promises to fulfill old friends’ dying wishes. Can an elven mind make peace with the nature of life and death? Frieren embarks on her quest to find out.
