The original anime film A Few Moments of Cheers is currently making beautiful music in Japanese cinemas. And even more music videos are coming out in the wake of the film’s debut—with the latest recruiting some up-and-coming animation talent!Today, a new music video for the song “Identi” has dropped, showcasing animation from HAL Tokyo’s CG, Design and Animation Department. Producing this music video was part of the class curriculum, and it’s resulted in a short story in which an art student singlehandedly takes on a zombie invasion.Check out the new video, set to the vocals of Kei Sugawara as Yu Orie:
With an original screenplay by Jukki Hanada (Love Live!), Popurika (Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie ED) directs A Few Moments of Cheers alongside assistant-director Ohajiki at studios Hurray! and 100studio, with art direction by Magotsuki and song compositions by VIVI.The synopsis reads:
Kanata Asaya, a high school student, is immersed in the production of music videos. One night, while searching the city for a motif for his video, he met a woman performing on the street in the rain and was struck by her song. “I want to make a music video for this song, it’s the one I’ve been waiting for,” he thought. His heart was moved by her singing voice and the way she sang with so much emotion.
The next day, he is astonished to see a new teacher standing on the platform. There is Yu Orie, the musician who had moved him the night before.
Kanata, who starts making things and moved on to the next step with the joy. Yu, who gave up making things and started on a different path because of the pain. What will their collaboration work bring to each of them?
