Cosplaying is serious business and 2.5 Dimensional Seduction takes it a notch higher than expected. To really dive deep into the trials of turning yourself into a fictional character, the upcoming TV anime adaptation of Yu Hashimoto’s manga series announced today that the series will air for two consecutive anime seasons or half a year.
Alongside the news, a new trailer was released revealing the characters of Nonoa and Aria Kisaki.
Nonoa voiced by Sayumi Suzushiro (Kurena Kukumila in 86 EIGHTY-SIX)
Aria Kisaki voiced by Sayumi Watabe (Freezing Astaroth in Combatants Will Be Dispatched!)
Hideki Okamoto directs 2.5 Dimensional Seduction at J.C. STAFF with series composition by Takao Yoshioka, character designs by Tomoyuki Shitaya and music from Hiroaki Tsutsumi. The series is set to premiere in July 2024.
The original 2.5 Dimensional Seduction manga by Yu Hashimoto is serialized by Shueisha in Japan on their Shonen Jump+ manga platform. An English language version of the series is available from Seven Seas Entertainment through its Ghost Ship imprint, which describes the story of 2.5 Dimensional Seduction as such:
“I have no interest in real girls!” So claims Okumura, the president of the school’s manga club. He’s your typical otaku, obsessed with a sexy (fictional) 2D manga character known as Liliel. Then the new school year starts, and a (real!) 3D girl named Lilysa whose passion is cosplay joins the club. Lilysa convinces Okumura to become her photographer–and guess who her favorite manga character is? Not only that, but Lilysa is into modeling the fetishy stuff! The boundaries between 2D and 3D start to blur as this hot-blooded romantic comedy unfolds.
