The official YouTube channel for voice actor/singer-songwriter Tomori Kusunoki (Makima in Chainsaw Man) has started streaming a music video for her new song “Shingetsu” (Crescent Moon). The song released digitally first on April 20, and it CD single is schedule to be available in Japan on May 8. As reported, the TETSUYA (L’Arc-en-Ciel bassist)-produced song is now featured as the ending theme for the ongoing second cour of the TV anime The Misfit of Demon King Academy II. Kusunoki previously sang “Hamidashimono,” the ending theme for the anime’s first season in 2020, and has also voiced one of the anime’s main heroines, Misha Necron.She describes the video on Twitter, “Although it has an unrealistic view of the world, the music video makes us feel the hope that exists in the world around us. Please pay attention to the changing expressions on my face like the waxing and waning of the moon.”

Following the first cour in 2023, the second cour of The Misfit of Demon King Academy II premiered in Japan on April 12, 2024, and has also streamed on Crunchyroll for members in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, CIS and Indian subcontinent. Anos Voldigoad was a tyrannical Demon King that eradicated humans, spirits, and even the gods, but became bored of eternal warfare and reincarnated with dreams of a peaceful world.
