30th anniversary plans were teased for the Mobile Fighter G Gundam anime along with some highlights surrounding the wider 45th anniversary festivities for the original Mobile Suit Gundam. Now some of that has come to fruition, including a special 30th anniversary visual (above) and a new side story scenario that’s being developed by G Gundam chief director Yasuhiro Imagawa.The character-filled illustration comes from animator Shinpei Sawa (key animation for episodes of Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury, Free! – Iwatobi Swim Club).The side story reveal follows tease of a new character for the series, complete with art. According to the announcement, the new story connecting the past, present and future is in development for summer 2024, and stories will be posted on the official G Gundam website.

The Mobile Fighter G Gundam anime aired from April 1994 to March 1995 for a total of 49 episodes, featuring Yasuhiro Imagawa as chief director, Fuyunori Gobu as series composition writer and Hiroshi Osaka as character designer at Sunrise. Crunchyroll streams the series and describes it like so:
