Some setbacks are enough to drive you bananas, and unfortunately, the Donkey Kong Country area scheduled to open in the Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Japan is now delayed to “late 2024,” according to an official release on Universal Studio Japan’s website. The area was originally planned to open in spring 2024.The new schedule for the opening and other additional details will be revealed at a later date.

Originally announced back in 2021, the Donkey Kong Country expansion to Super Nintendo World is scheduled to increase the section’s overall size by 70 percent and include jungle-themed shops and restaurants as well as the “Mine-Cart Madness” family rollercoaster designed to replicate the track-jumping antics from the Donkey Kong Country video games.
