The girls of Nijigasaki High School’s Idol Club are headed to Okinawa. The latest Love Live! anime film, this time focusing on the Odaiba-based group and will be set over a trilogy of movies, released its first trailer today and announced that the first of the Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club Final Chapter films will be released in premium formats in Japan alongside the regular theatrical print.
Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club Final Chapter part one will be released in regular theaters, MX4D, 4DX, Dolby Atmos and Dolby Cinema, all on September 6.
The first season of the TV anime Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club aired from October to December 2020 and the second season followed from April to June 2022. A sequel OVA titled Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club NEXT SKY was released in Japanese theaters in June 2023.
Final Chapter will continue the story from NEXT SKY and center on an event called “School Idol GPX” set in Okinawa. The first part is set to release in Japanese theaters on September 6, 2024. Tomoyuki Kawamura continues directing the franchise at Bandai Namco Filmworks, formally known as Sunrise.
