Now in its 13th outing, the Kyoto International Manga Anime Fair returns to Japan’s historic capital later this year, the event announced today. Affectionately known as KyoMaf, the 2024 festival will again be held in a combination of Miyako Messe, ROHM Theater Kyoto and the Kyoto International Manga Museum. To coincide with the announcement, a visual for Kyoto International Manga Anime Fair 2024 was released featuring Kyoto City’s public relations character Kyono Tsukasa and Kyoto City Transportation Bureau subway and city bus character Moe Uzumasa drawn by Kyoto University of Arts graduate hamachamu.
KyoMaf 2024 will be held on September 21 and 22 in the Kyoto area. The event saw a record 74 exhibitors in 2023, with applications open for this year’s event also opening today.
