The song was featured as the second opening theme for the Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End TV anime, and the clip features various memorable scenes from the season’s “The First-Class Mage Exam” story. Yorushika consists of composer n-buna and vocalist suis, and has provided the theme songs for Kaina of the Great Snow Sea (2023) and The Dangers in My Heart (2023). “Sunny” was released digitally on January 5, 2024, ranking #2 on Billboard Japan’s weekly download songs charts.
