A brand-new trailer for Senpai is an Otokonoko was released at AnimeJapan today, giving us our first animated look at Makoto Hanaoka’s crossdressing school life and the pivotal moment the plucky Saki Aoi confesses to him.The anime series is scheduled to begin airing in July 2024.
Based on the manga by Pom, Shinsuke Yanagi (Bottom-Tier Character Tomozaki) will direct Senpai is an Otokonoko at studio project No.9, with series composition by Yoriko Tomita (My Dress-Up Darling), character designs by Shoto Shinkai and music by Yukari Hashimoto (A Sign of Affection). The series also stars Shuichiro Umeda, Akira Sekine and Yuma Uchida. The original Senpai is an Otokonoko manga by pom ran from December 2019 to 2021, and was published in digital format in Japan by LINE and in print format by Ichijinsha. Seven physical volumes are released in Japan to date, with volume eight scheduled to release on April 1, 2024. An English language version is also available via WEBTOON.
