During a panel entitled “Journey to Dawntrail: The 10 Year Adventure of FINAL FANTASY XIV” that was hosted at the PAX EAST convention by producer / director Naoki Yoshida, it was revealed that Dawntrail, the latest expansion for the Final Fantasy XIV MMORPG, will be released on July 02, 2024, with early access for the expansion beginning on June 28, 2024. Pre-orders for the expansion begin on March 26, 2024.
During the presentation, Yoshida also expressed the developers’ desires to explore additional large-scale duties (similar to the Eureka and Bozja zones from previous expansions) and a desire to create new challenging and exciting experiences as well as new rewards for the player base.
Details for the Collector’s Edition of the Dawntrail expansion were also revealed, including a high quality figure, a map of Eorzea, an adventure journal, a pen-case resembling an adventurer’s satchel, and a decorative art box featuring artwork by illustrator Yoshitaka Amano. Digital rewards for the Collector’s Edition include an Ark Mount, a Wind-Up Garnet Minion, and a Chocobo Brush weapon for Pictomancer. Pre-order in-game bonuses include a Wind-Up Zidane Minion and an experience-boosting earring accessory.
Additionally, the Final Fantasy XVI cross-over event will run from April 2 – May 8, 2024.

Set in the New World, Tural, Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail follows the adventures of the Warrior of Light and the Scions as they become involved in the succession of a foreign dynasty. The level cap in the game will be raised to 100, and two new DPS jobs (Viper and Pictomancer, respectively) will be added. A graphics update and new systems are also in-development, and the free trial version of Final Fantasy XIV has been updated to include the Stormblood expansion. The game is now also available on X-Box systems.
