UPDATE: Added some descriptions and new character art from the press release.The Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- anime was on display during AnimeJapan 2024 today in anticipation of its third season, and now we know when to expect it. As revealed during the special stage event and in the new trailer below, Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- 3rd Season will premiere in October 2024.

The main staff features a couple key changes, including Masahiro Shinohara taking over as director for previous director Masaharu Watanabe. The previous character designer and chief animation director was Kyuta Sakai.

The new cast additions includes:
Liliana Masquerade voiced by Aya Yamane (Cathy in Sugar Apple Fairy Tale)
The official PR describes her:
A bard and “songstress” of Pristella.
Her singing voice, accompanied by the tune of a musical instrument called the lulile, never fails to captivate the hearts of those who listen to her.
In contrast to her brilliant singing, she is a high-spirited girl with somewhat erratic behavior.
As a celebrity fanatic, she gets star struck easily.
Hoping to sing of a new heroic tale, she half-forcefully cooperates with Subaru, asking him to tell her about the defeat of the Three Mabeast and the Sin Archbishop of Witch Cult.
Aya Yamane shared the following comment:
I’m Aya Yamane and I will be playing the role of Liliana!
My favorite parts of Re:ZERO are how the story unfolds so that it always betrays the viewers’ expectations – kind of like “Return by Death?! Here!?” – and how each character’s past is so vividly depicted that you find yourself falling in love with each one of them.
I am very honored to be able to immerse myself into the world of such a wonderful title!
Liliana is a girl who makes her living as a bard.

The first two seasons of Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- were directed by Masaharu Watanabe at studio White Fox based on the light novels by Tappei Nagatsuki. Crunchyroll streams the first two seasons and OVAs, describing the series as such:
Natsuki Subaru, an ordinary high school student, is on his way home from the convenience store when he finds himself transported to another world. As he’s lost and confused in a new world where he doesn’t even know left from right, the only person to reach out to him was a beautiful girl with silver hair. Determined to repay her somehow for saving him from his own despair, Subaru agrees to help the girl find something she’s looking for…
