KING AMUSEMENT CREATIVE’s official YouTube channel has started streaming a character PV for Mahiru Kouzuki, one of the protagonists in the upcoming spring 2024 TV anime Jellyfish Can’t Swim in the Night. Mahiru Kouzuki, voiced by Miku Ito (Miku Nakano in The Quintessential Quintuplets), is introduced as:

She is a mass-produced type high school girl who tries to avoid conflicts and troubles. She tends to be overly sensitive, and while she is able to relate to people with all her heart, she is easily hurt by even the smallest things. In her childhood, she was active as an illustrator named “Yoru Mitsuki,” but was forced to suspend her activities due to a certain incident. Because of that, she has been traumatized by being special and has spent her days trying to be as normal as possible. However, an encounter with Kano triggers her daily life to become special again.

Doga Kobo’s original TV anime Jellyfish Can’t Swim in the Night is set to premiere in Japan on April 6, 2024, directed by Ryohei Takeshita (Eromanga Sensei) with scripts by Yuki Yaku (Bottom-Tier Character Tomozaki author) and character designs adapted for animation by Junichiro Taniguchi (SING “YESTERDAY” FOR ME). The three other min voice cast members are:

Kano Yamanouchi voiced by Rie Takahashi (Ai in Oshi no Ko)

Kiwi Watase voiced by Miyu Tomita (Karane in The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, REALLY Love You)

Mei Anouk Kim Takanashi voiced by Miyuri Shimabukuro (Nozomi in Farewell, My Dear Cramer)

HIDIVE, which will stream the anime in North America, describes the series:

Shibuya is a city full of identity. It is here on Shibuya’s late night streets that illustrator Mahiru Kozuki, former idol Kano Yamanouchi, Vtuber Kiui Watase and composer Mei Kim Anouk Takanashi — four young women who are slightly outside the world — join together and form an anonymous artist group called JELEE. “I” also want to shine like someone else. If it’s not me but “we” then we might be able to shine.
