The latest piece of news to come down the tube at AnimeJapan 2024 is the first full trailer for the upcoming original anime MAYONAKA PUNCH, giving us a preview of central cast members Ikumi Hasegawa, Fairouz Ai, Yuina Ito, Hina Yomiya, Hitomi Ueda and Ai Kayano together after their individual character introductions earlier this month.
Shu Honma (Ya Boy Kongming!) is directing MAYONAKA PUNCH at studio P.A. Works for a July 2024 premiere, with series composition by Hideaki Shirasaka and Tsukasa Kotobuki’s original character designs adapted for animation by Ryota Arima. Manga and novel adaptations are also in the works. The series will follow Masaki, who was fired from her previous three-person NewTube channel after a “certain incident,” as she teams up with another girl named Ribu to start over. Together, they’re aiming for one million subscribers.
