In a new trailer released at AnimeJapan 2024 today, the fantasy anime A Nobody’s Way Up to an Exploration Hero announced the additions of Azumi Waki (Nagisa in Girlfriend, Girlfriend) as Haruka Katsuragi — the protagonist’s childhood friend — and Mayu Sagara (Kasumi in Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club) as Lucelia — a foul-mouthed devil servant — to the series’ cast ahead of a July 2024 broadcast.They join previously announced leads Yuya Hozumi (Kaito) and Kana Hanazawa (Sylphy).

Based on the light novels by Kaisho and Almic, Tomoki Kobayashi (Infinite Dendrogram, Akame ga Kill!) will direct A Nobody’s Way Up to an Exploration Hero is at studio Gekkou, with series composition by Kazuyuki Fudeyasu, character designs by Shoko Yasuda and music by Keiji Inai.As previously reported, the story follows Kaito Takagi, an ordinary high school student who works part-time exploring the “dungeons” that have appeared all over Japan. Kaito has low stats and can’t even confront a goblin without having to flee for his life, so he spends his time hunting slimes. One day he encounters an unusual “golden slime” that drops a rare item known as a “servant card” which allows Kaito to summon a Valkyrie, a powerful battle-maiden, and his luck as a low-level slime hunter begins to change.
