We’re not horsing around when we report that Umamusume: Pretty Derby ROAD TO THE TOP, a four episode web anime series released in 2023 as part of the Umamusume: Pretty Derby mixed media franchise, is being compiled and re-edited into a theatrical anime film that will have a limited, two week release in Japan beginning on May 10, 2024. The film will feature newly animated scenes.
Chengzi Liao directs Umamsume: Pretty Derby ROAD TO THE TOP at animation studio CygamesPictures. The series focuses on three horse girls – Narita Top Road, Admire Vega, and T M Opera O – as they challenge the Classic Triple Crown racing series, and all four episodes have been published to YouTube. Crunchyroll currently streams Seasons 1, 2, and 3 of the Umamusume: Pretty Derby TV anime.
