If you’re not still knee-deep in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, it’s almost time to jump back into Final Fantasy XVI for another round of DLC. The new chapter, The Rising Tide, is officially set to launch on April 18, priced at $19.99 on its own or as part of the $24.99 Expansion Pass that also includes Echoes of the Fallen. The new chapter of Final Fantasy XVI finds Clive and co. heading to a hidden land with a tragic history known as Mysidia. You’ll meet new allies, battle some odd-looking new Tonberries, earn the Eikon of Water Leviathan and challenge the new Kairos Gate mode upon completion.

Beyond that, there’s a crossover questline on the way to Final Fantasy XIV, as well as a collab with Final Fantasy Brave Exvius. The former hits in early April and the latter adds new FFXVI units to Brave Exvius in summer 2024. There’s more to look forward to in the free Version 1.30 update, too, which launches alongside the new DLC. The Quick Complete function lets you return to a quest giver immediately and icons have been updated for important character quests. There’s also a new Skill Set feature, adjustments to abilities and accessories, a new controller type, additional Photo Mode effects and around 40 new Orchestrion rolls.
