Haikyu!! The Dumpster Battle just broke a box office record in Japan. The theatrical anime film is repaying the devotion of its fandom by releasing a new trailer and a new bonus for attendees who head to their latest screenings in Japan, which now feature English subtitles. The new gift which will be rolled out to participating theaters in Japan from this weekend until March 29 will be the Karasuno × Nekumo Memorial Book, while supplies last. Toho Animation is producing both Haikyu!! FINAL anime films with the animation continuing at Production I.G, including Susumu Mitsunaka as director and screenwriter, Takahiro Kishida as character designer and Takahiro Chiba as chief animation director. Haikyu!! The Dumpster Battle was released in Japan on February 16, 2024 while a date for the second film has yet to be confirmed.

Based off of the original Weekly Shonen Jump manga series from Haruichi Furudate, Haikyu!! is a slice-of-life sports anime revolving around Shoyo Hinata’s love of volleyball. Inspired by a small-statured pro volleyball player, Hinata creates a volleyball team in his last year of middle school. Unfortunately the team is matched up against the “King of the Court” Tobio Kageyama’s team in their first tournament and inevitably lose. After the crushing defeat, Hinata vows to surpass Kageyama After entering high school, Hinata joins the volleyball team only to find that Tobio has also joined.
