The Blazing Dawn is the first story arc of the Dragon Raja novel series by Jiang Nan, and finds Lu Mingfei—an awkward 18-year-old who keeps getting rejected by universities—receiving a strange letter of acceptance to the U.S.-based Cassell College. Shortly after he reluctantly follows through, he learns that dragons are real and the university was established as a training school for dragon slayers. Lu Mingfei, like all the other students at the university, also holds a secret: He is a hybrid human who also has dragon genes within him.
