The official portal site for the Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha anime franchise revealed today on July 8 that the anime’s 20th anniversary project is scheduled to launch in October 2024. The project’s commemorative logo was unveiled for the first time on the site, and has also been introduced on the anime’s official X (formerly Twitter).
As the first phase of the 20th anniversary project, under the title of “Lyrical Selection,” TV-edited versions of two films — Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha The MOVIE 1st (2010) and Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha The MOVIE 2nd A’s (2012) — will be broadcast from October 2024. The former is based on the anime franchise’s first TV series aired in 2004, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, while the latter is based on the second TV series aired in 2005, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha A’s.
On the occasion of the broadcast, a campaign entitled “Lyrical Illust” is planned to be held. Illustrations with the theme “Your Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha 20th Anniversary Memories” will be accepted. The winning illustrations will be featured in the ending credits of the TV-edited version of the two films. The winners will also receive a 20th anniversary logo sticker.
