After graduating from high school in Japan in 2018, Shimizu went to New York to study acting, singing and dancing at the New York Film Academy Musical Theatre in New York City. She returned to Japan after graduating the academy in March 2020, making her major label debut in April 2022 with her first digital single song, “High Five.””Wave” is her first anime theme song work. “‘Wave’ came to me while writing the third single ‘Home,'” Shimizu described in a video message on June 26. “The song was created by comparing the ups and downs of emotions to the appearance of waves. This song focuses on the conflict in my heart, so I feel like I am laying my feelings bare. I hope many people will listen to this song, which is connected to ‘Home.'”As her ninth digital single, “Wave” was released digitally from Universal Music on July 2.
