McDonald’s announced today that it’s teaming up with the popular JUJUTSU KAISEN anime series for a brand-new dipping sauce in the United States inspired by the Black Garlic Sauce from McDonald’s Japan: Special Grade Garlic Sauce. The sauce, which will be available exclusively on the McDonald’s App starting July 9, contains, according to the official press release, “notes of garlic and soy sauce, balanced with a slight tangy sweetness.”
As seen above, the special sauce will sport one of eight unique lids featuring fan-favorite characters from the anime series, such as Yuji Itadori, Megumi Fushiguro, Nobara Kugisaki, Satoru Gojo…and also Mahito. McDonald’s revealed the collab earlier today after previously teasing the news on its social media accounts yesterday, in addition to changing its logo and header designs to ones inspired by JUJUTSU KAISEN:
Fans who log into the McDonald’s App can get the Special Garlic Sauce for free with any order of Chicken McNuggets. Each sauce purchase comes with a 30-day free trial of Crunchyroll, so if you’re just dipping into the series, you’ve got the perfect place to catch up. Crunchyroll is streaming both seasons of the MAPPA-produced JUJUTSU KAISEN anime alongside the anime film JUJUTSU KAISEN 0. Crunchyroll describes the series:
Yuji Itadori is a boy with tremendous physical strength, though he lives a completely ordinary high school life. One day, to save a classmate who has been attacked by curses, he eats the finger of Ryomen Sukuna, taking the curse into his own soul. From then on, he shares one body with Ryomen Sukuna. Guided by the most powerful of sorcerers, Satoru Gojo, Itadori is admitted to Tokyo Jujutsu High School, an organization that fights the curses… and thus begins the heroic tale of a boy who became a curse to exorcise a curse, a life from which he could never turn back.
