The official website for the upcoming 3DCG anime film adaptation of the award-winning 1996 novel by Yoshiko Shikimura, Ganbatte Ikimasshoi (“Give It All”), has announced four additional voice cast members.
Takuya Eguchi (Loid Forger in SPY x FAMILY) plays the role of Hayato Ninomiya, the head of the rowing club at Mitsu Higashi High School, to which the main character Etsuko Murakami belongs. He is the only male member of the club and is famous within the school as a “boat idiot” who is always thinking about boats.
Ayana Taketatsu (Nino Nakano in The Quintessential Quintuplets) plays Umeko Terao, who is the ace of the Minatoyama High School rowing club. She is a taciturn but passionate character, trusted by her club members
Suzuko Mimori (Umi Sonoda in Love Live!) plays Mai Ohno, the mood maker of Minatoyama High School’s rowing club. She has a cool personality but leads the team with her well-rounded physique
Aya Uchida (Kotori Minami in Love Live!) plays kaori Yasuda, an outstanding freshman with excellent analytical skills on the rowing team at Minatoyama High School.
The original Ganbatte Ikimasshoi novel was published in Japan by Gentosha under their Gentosha Bunko imprint. Yuhei Sakuragi (Ashita sekai ga owaru to shite mo) directs the film at Studi Moe and REIRS. The novel has previously been adapted into a live-action film in 1998 and a live-action TV drama in 2005.Set in Matsuyama City in Ehime Prefecture, the story of Ganbatte Ikimasshoi follows the trials and tribulations of five girls who come together as members of their high school’s competitive rowing team. The film will debut in Japan on October 25, 2024.
