Next year, anime will once again answer the age-old question: “What if these things were cute anime characters?” This time, “these things” are renowned classical composers, and they’re kicking off an interconnected “Classic Verse” with a brand new anime.Titled Classic Stars, the idol series is set to debut in 2025. UNISON, the newly-formed branch of Aria Entertainment, will produce the series and its overarching Classic Verse project.The new official website for the series released a teaser video and two teaser visuals, showing its musical stars in school uniforms and performance gear. From left to right, our new heroes are Mozart (CV Kento Ito), Liszt (CV Shoya Ishige), Chopin (CV Shun Abe), and Beethoven (Yuma Uchida):
Despite the names, they’re actually just regular modern-day guys who happen to be compatible with these composers’ “Gifts.” At Gloria Private Academy, compatible music students receive these Gifts and adopt the name of their respective composer.Cast photos have also been released featuring the show’s four stars:
Noriyasu Agematsu of Elements Garden serves as the planner and executive producer for Classic Stars. Hideaki Oba (Love of Kill) directs, with Shingo Nagai (Girly Air Force) on series composition and Yoko Sato (I’m in Love with the Villainess) on character designs. The anime is a co-production of UNISON and King Records, with Elements Garden handling music and Platinum Vision handling animation.Classic Stars will also be the first installment in a wider Classic Verse project, through which UNISON will plan and produce titles with a common theme of classical music. Plans are also afoot for an as-yet-untitled isekai project, in which composers will be reincarnated into other worlds.The Classic Stars anime is scheduled to debut sometime in 2025.
