Makoto Takatsu’s road-living manga Migratory Birds And Snail got two huge pieces of news today: the manga has come out of hiatus with the first new chapter since 2021 and announced that a TV anime is in production – bringing Mochizuki and Nagisa’s van life to the television screen.
Migratory Birds And Snail, known as Wataridori to Katatsumuri in Japan, is written and illustrated by Makoto Takatsu and published on Wani Books’ NewsCrunch web manga magazine. 18 chapters of the series have been released in three collected volumes in Japan. No other details on the anime adaptation were revealed.The series follows mechanic Unpei Mochizuki, who is bored with his life and makes a mistake at work, making him want to leave and go very far away. That’s when he meets illustrator Tsugumi Nagisa, who is a digital nomad. The two begin a new life together with their van “Sumika” and travel around with the freedom to go anywhere.
