The works of manga creator Tsukasa Hojo have long been popular in France. The anime adaptations of City Hunter and its connected series Cat’s Eye both got air time there—as Nicky Larson and Cat’s Eyes, respectively. And, much like City Hunter, Cat’s Eye is on its way to a French live-action adaptation. Today, we get our first look at the previously announced TV series project!
Check out our first look at the upcoming Cat’s Eyes TV series:
Michael Catz serves as writer and showrunner for Cat’s Eyes, which stars Camille Lou, Constance Labbé and Claire Romain as the Chamade sisters. The series will air on French network TF1 and streaming service TF1+, the latter of which also streams the French dub of Cat’s Eye. A release date for the series is forthcoming.
Tsukasa Hojo’s Cat’s Eye ran in Weekly Shonen Jump from 1981 to 1985, following the three Kisugi sisters as they managed the Cat’s Eye Café in Tokyo. After hours, they worked together as a team of thieves, recovering art pieces from their missing father’s collection. A crossover with long-running series Lupin the 3rd streamed on Amazon Prime in 2023.
