Singer-songwriter Chiai Fujikawa released her 14th digital single song “Sagashimono” (A thing being looked for) on July 9 and also posted the song’s music video on her official YouTube channel. The emotional song is now featured as the ending theme for the summer 2024 TV anime The Ossan Newbie Adventurer, Trained to Death by the Most Powerful Party, Became Invincible. The entire video was shot in New Zealand.

Chiai Fujikawa began her professional career in July 2015 as a member of the idol group Maneki Kecak; after graduating from the group in September, 2018, she began her career as a solo singer and has released four full albums and two mini albums. Among anime fans, she is best known for her theme song works for The Rising of the Shield Hero anime franchise.The music video for “Sagashimono” is a road movie-like clip based on the concept of “a journey in search of something shiny that sleeps inside me,” as mentioned in the lyrics. As the term “road movie” implies, Fujikawa and the staff members, including director Hidemasa Jinguji, drove around New Zealand for five days to shoot the video.”‘Traveling’ is often compared to ‘self-discovery,’ and when you are lost, simply asking your inner self questions is often not enough to solve the problem. I believe that traveling to an unknown place is not an exaggeration, but a chance to discover a new you, ” said Fujikawa. “For this reason, I consulted with Director Jinguji about shooting the music video for ‘Sagashimono’ in a road movie style, and flew from Japan in the middle of summer to New Zealand in the middle of winter. The randomness of the shooting trip, not only the prepared scenes, but I found myself being filmed as I am, and I learned a new side of myself by watching the music video, such as my bad posture.
