The official website for the upcoming live-action TV drama adaptation of Rasuko Okuma’s manga Stardust Telepath revealed a total of 16 cast members selected through auditions. The main cast is played by members of the Japanese girl idol group AKB48.Airi Sato who started her activities as the 17th term member of AKB48 in May 2022, will play the protagonist, Umika Konohoshi. Sato was selected as one of the title song members for five consecutive singles from the group’s 60th to 64th singles. She also plays the center for the first time in the group’s 64th single, set to release on July 17, 2024. Additionally, three other AKB48 members were selected as the protagonist’s classmates: Momoka Ito as Yu Akeuchi, Maho Omori as Haruno Takaragi, and Sora Yamazaki as Matataki Raimon.The live-action TV drama Stardust Telepath is set to premiere on TV Tokyo’s “Drama Tues!” programming block on June 25, 2024.
