Singer-songwriter Kashitaro Ito released his new digital single “Shura Nikki” (roughly translated as The Diary of Endless Conflicts) on July 10, alongside posting the song’s music video on KADOKAWA anime official YouTube channel. The mysterious pop tune is now featured as the opening theme for the summer 2024 TV anime No Longer Allowed in Another World.This music video depicts the keyword “poison” in a sophisticated collage design. It expresses a glimpse of the unstable mental world of “someone (or yourself)” who is dependent on something and whose life has been affected by it. As with the digital single jacket, artist Shiun provided the illustrations in the video, while iga kitty, who specializes in creative worldviews with a dark and eerie atmosphere with a hint of innocence, served as director.

Kashitaro Ito started his career in 2012 by posting performance videos on Nico Nico Douga, and his videos have been viewed over 150 million times. He currently has 710,000 X (formerly Twitter) followers and 300,000 official LINE friends. In 2014, he made his major debut on TOY’S FACTORY, releasing five CD singles, 11 digital singles, four full albums and six mini-albums. “Shura Nikki” is his eighth TV anime theme song work following last year’s “Ita Philosophica” (My Happy Marriage ending theme).

The TV anime adaptation of Hiroshi Noda (story) and Takahiro Wakamatsu’s (art) isekai manga series No Longer Allowed in Another World premiered in Japan on July 9, 2024.
