Anime NYC is getting ready to return to New York City from August 23-25, 2024, and it’s bringing an exciting musical act along for the ride. The convention announced its latest guest as Creepy Nuts, with the duo set to perform their first U.S. concert over the Anime NYC weekend.
Following their Sony debut in 2017, Creepy Nuts has had some big anime success, including the “Yofukashi no Uta” theme song from Call of the Night and the viral “Bling-Bang-Bang-Born” from MASHLE: MAGIC AND MUSCLES, the latter of which is available to stream on Crunchyroll.The official Anime NYC page describes the duo:
A hip hop unit formed by the rapper “R-Shitei” and the DMC World DJ Championships 2019 winner “DJ Matsunaga.” They made their major debut from Sony Music in 2017, releasing “Katsute Tensaidatta Oretachie” in August 2020 and “Case” in 2021. The song “Nobishiro” has been streamed more than 100 million times for the first time. “Bling-Bang-Bang-Born”, the opening theme song for the second season of the anime “Mashle: Magic and Muscles”, is now available.
R-Shitei leads the Japanese HIP-HOP scene.
He has won the ULTIMATE MC BATTLE, the most prestigious MC battle in Japan, for 5 consecutive years, appeared at THE FIRST TIME FES as Umeda Cypher, a HIPHOP group, and served as a judge for the popular HIPHOP program “Rapstar Birth 2021”. He is a leading figure in the current HIP-HOP scene.

He won the DMC WORLD DJ CHAMPIONSHIP FINALS 2019 to determine the best turntablist in Japan and was crowned the “World’s Best” battle DJ. His outstanding skills and superb technique are recognized by everyone. He is also involved in a wide range of production work.
