Kinoko Inu, an upcoming TV anime based on the manga of the same name, has revealed a wealth of new information, including the main staff, key cast, a teaser trailer, and two new pieces of teaser art (below). The series will broadcast in Japan beginning in fall 2024.
Tokuma Shoten serialized the original Kinoko Inu manga by Kimama Aoboshi from 2010 – 2022 in their Monthly Comic Ryu seinen manga magazine. Kagetoshi Asano directs the TV anime at animation studio C-Station. Jin Tanaka provides the series composition, Daisuke Endou provides the character designs, and Akiyuki Tateyama provides the music. The series features the voice talents of Daiki Kobayashi as Kinoko Inu and Yuto Uemura as Hotaru.

Described as a “heartwarming comedy”, the story of Kinoko Inu follows Hotaru Yuuyami, a picture book writer who is brokenhearted after the loss of his beloved family dog, Hanako, until he discovers a strange mushroom creature growing in his garden one day.
