The official YouTube channel for the three-piece Japanese band fhána has started streaming a music video for their latest digital single song “Tenshitachi no Uta” (“The Song of Angels”). The refreshing pop tune is now featured as the opening theme for the summer 2024 TV anime Days with My Stepsister. This is their 17th TV anime theme song work since debuting in 2013.

Junichi Sato, the band’s keyboardist who worked on the song’s music and arrangement, commented on X (formerly Twitter) about the music video, “This is a work that tried something new that fhána had never tried before in our previous music videos. It was shot in the town of Shibuya, which is also an important setting for ‘Days with My Stepsister,’ and although the members appear in the video, the main focus is on the scenery of the town and the lyrics. The members blend into the daily lives of the people. There’s no lip-sync. The video is as literary as a novel and as visually expressive as a painting, yet it has a sense of speed, and slow and fast pace. The music video, directed by up-and-coming filmmaker Takamaeda-san, is bursting with fresh expressive power. We hope we have created a gentle and beautiful image that blends in with the world of the anime and with people’s lives. The TV anime from the Days with My Stepsister mixed-media project created by Ghost Mikawa started airing in Japan on July 4, 2024, and its first three episodes are now available on Crunchyroll for members in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East and CIS.Crunchyroll describes the series:
