The new look, feel, and sound of Crunchyroll reflects the joy that anime brings fans worldwide and is focused on an ethos of fun and celebration. Crunchyroll continues to bring anime to fans wherever they are in their anime journey, including streaming, at the movies, through events, via games, music, news and more! The brand is focused on connecting fans and creators to celebrate their shared passions.

The updated and recharged Crunchyroll will kick off at San Diego Comic-Con starting July 25, with updates rolling out across the organization over the next year. According to the official press release, fans can expect the following:

A modernized logo with a balanced eye symbol and revamped watermark.

A new font set called Crunchyroll Atyp, blending classic and modern elements for improved readability.

A vibrant color system featuring orange, black, white and taupe.

The new glyph system–over 139 anime and manga-inspired characters, adding depth and personality.

A new seven-second audio-visual mnemonic to capture the immersive Crunchyroll experience with anime-inspired sound design and playful elements.

Collaborations with Japanese artists on new textures and patterns to further enhance the brand’s authenticity and immersive storytelling.

Fans will get their first glimpse of the new Crunchyroll in just a few days at SDCC. The refreshed brand will be displayed across the Rady Shell concert venue, where the Crunchyroll Concert Series event will take place. The event, announced earlier this month, will feature J-pop superstar LiSA, Alice Longyu Gao, and a special performance of the One Piece 25th Anniversary: Symphonic Voyage, presented in collaboration with Toei Animation.

Fans can also experience the new look on the SDCC show floor inside and outside the convention center, including a limited collection of Crunchyroll merchandise designed by 2024 CFDA Fashion Fund finalist Sebastian Ami.

Crunchyroll’s brand evolution arrives following the continued success of the Crunchyroll streaming service, bringing 45-60 new series to fans every season; the distribution of hit films from anime series like Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba and SPY x FAMILY, as well as Makoto Shinkai’s Suzume; and appearances at global fan events including Anime Expo, AniMagic, Japan Expo and CCXP in Brazil.
