Japanese electronics accessories maker caseplay is going retro in its latest collab, bringing vintage magical girl series Himitsu no Akko-chan back into the public eye for a line of smartphone goods!Hailing from Osomatsu-kun artist Fujio Akatsuka, Himitsu no Akko-chan stars Atsuko Kagami, a grade-schooler gifted with a magical hand mirror that allows her to transform into anything she chooses. The original manga ran from 1962-1965, making it the first-ever magical girl manga. Its anime adaptation is the second-ever magical girl anime, predated by Sally the Witch (which debuted as both a manga and an anime in 1966).The new line of goods from caseplay features Akatsuka’s vintage manga art on smartphone cases, mag-safe wallets, art prints and more:
