An official website and X (formerly Twitter) account opened today announced that a brand-new, “updated” anime adaptation of Sho Makura and Takeshi Okano’s Jigoku Sensei Nube manga is in the works, revealing a teaser visual, trailer and a planned 2025 release.
A global version of the anime’s website was also launched with the English title “Hell Teacher: Jigoku Sensei Nube”. Additional details about the project, such as staff and cast, are yet to be confirmed.

Serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from 1993 to 1999, the Jigoku Sensei Nube manga was previously adapted into 49-episode television anime, plus several films and OVAs by Toei Animation, as well as a ten-episode live-action drama and a PlayStation video game. It was reported in July 2024 that the series, including multiple spin-offs, has over 29 million copies in circulation.
