LMYK was born in Osaka, Japan to a German father and Japanese mother. She began making music in New York City while still in college. When Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, one of the world’s leading music producer teams, heard her music and voice, they immediately offered to produce her songs. In November 2020, she debuted with “Unity,” the theme song for the Japanese dubbed version of the Chinese animation film The Legend of Hei. “I LUV U 2” is her fourth Japanese TV anime theme song work, following “0 (zero)” (The Case Study of Vanitas ending theme), “Without Love” (VINLAND SAGA Season 2 ending theme), and “Perfect World” (Firefighter Daigo: Rescuer in Orange ending theme). On her official website, LMYK says of the song: “If the light that flickers according to a certain rule, and the musical scale that comes and goes according to a certain rule, are signals that someone who is unknown to me at the end of the world that I have yet to see, is sending out to me alone. There would be no one who could stop my impulse from traveling toward the direction where the signal is shining and ringing. With this in mind, I wanted to create a song like a signal that reaches only Belle’s ears. I would be happy if this song could be a signal that reaches everyone who is watching over Belle’s journey.”The CD single of “I LUV U 2” is set to release in Japan on August 7, 2024. Prior to the CD release, the title tune is now available on digital services for streaming and download.

“I want to be part of the world…”

With such longing in her heart, she decides to set out on a journey to find her roots, carrying the Runding, a great sword as tall as she is. She doesn’t know how many adversities await her along the way…

This masterpiece by the remarkable Tow Ubukata is considered to be his origin, and many have deemed it impossible to animate. But at long last, it will be adapted into anime form by the top creators that represent Japan!
