Gendai Goyaku (“Modern Mistranslation”), an animated / live-action TV program helmed by the voice actors Kenjiro Tsuda and Daisuke Namikawa in their role as the comedy duo Choudendou dB, has revealed a new trailer and a new key visual for the series. The series will broadcast in Japan on TOKYO MX and BS11 beginning on July 6, 2024, with an addition broadcast to follow on TV Hokkaido beginning on July 9.
Kenjiro Tsuda and Daisuke Namikawa serve as directors, sound directors, and creative producers for Gendai Goyaku at animation studio ILCASHIPS. Yuki Iwai (of comedy duo Haraichi) provides the series composition and ChibaNyan provides the music.

Gendai Goyaku consists of animated and live-action documentary portions. The animated portions focus on teaching the audience famous quotations from historical figures from all over the world by presenting the quotations incorrectly at first as “mistranslations” in the “modern day”, encouraging the viewers to learn the correct quotes in the process. The live-action portions feature Choudendou dB examining how the anime portions are planned and produced.
