The official website for Maho Tsukai Precure!! ~ MIRAI DAYS~, the upcoming sequel to the 13th Precure TV series Witchy PreCure! (known as Maho Tsukai Precure! / Maho Girls Precure! in Japan), announced on June 12 that all of the four main voice cast members from the original series will reprise their roles.The returning voice cast members include:
Mirai Asahina / Cure Miracle voiced by Rie Takahashi (Megumin in KONOSUBA -God’s blessing on this wonderful world!)
Riko Izayoi / Cure Magical voiced by Yui Horie ( Ayu Tsukimiya in Kanon)
Ha-chan / Kotoha Hanami / Cure Felice voiced by Saori Hayami (Miyuki Shiba in The Irregular at Magic High School)
Mofurun voiced by Ayaka Saito (Mitsukuni Haninozuka in Ouran High School Host Club)
The four cast members were informed of the decision to produce the sequel in March. A video showing the four gathered without prior information, surprised and pleased by the announcement, is now streaming on the Precure franchise’s official YouTube channel.
Maho Tsukai Precure!! ~ MIRAI DAYS~ is set to premiere on ABC TV/TV Asahi networks’ midnight programming block “ANiMAZiNG!!!” on January 11, 2025. Details of the story are still unknown, but Takahashi’s comments on the site indicate that at least Mirai, who was a junior high student in the original series, is now a college student in the sequel.Under the tentative title Maho Tsukai Precure! 2, Toei Animation revealed the sequel project back in March 2023, along with Power of Hope ~PreCure Full Bloom~, the sequel to the fourth TV series Yes! Precure 5 (2007-2008) and fifth series Yes! Precure 5 Gogo! (2008-2009).As the 13th installment in the long-running Precure anime franchise, Witchy PreCure! aired for 50 episodes from February 2016 to January 2017.Toei Animation’s official USA site describes the series:
Mirai Asahina, a thirteen-year-old girl who is excited by various things, goes with her stuffed doll Mofurun to investigate a mysterious object that fell from the sky. There, she meets a young magician named Riko who is searching for something known as the Linkle Stone Emerald.
