Bandai Namco entertainment announced the launch of THE IDOLM@STER franchise’s 20th anniversary project on July 26. Details of the project was also revealed in the live-streaming program “THE iDOLM@STER Special Live Streaming 19th→20th Special Party!!!!!!” on the same day.The two-year period from July 26, 2024 to July 25, 2026 will be designated as the “20th Anniversary Year” and will include a variety of activities to commemorate the 20th anniversary under the concept of “Ai MUST GO ON!

20th Anniversary Project Teaser Trailer

The CD single of the 20th anniversary song “Ai NEED YOU (FOR WONDERFUL STORY)” is set to release in six editions on December 11, 2024. This song was produced by the same team as the 10th anniversary song “Ai MUST GO!” with lyrics by mft (Hiroyuki Onoda), music by BNSI (Koji Nakagawa) and arrangement by Keiki Kobayashi.

As the first teaser visual for the 20th anniversary project, an illustration of Haruka Amami of 765PRO ALLSTARS has been revealed. The illustration depicts Haruka dozing off with materials in her arms, perhaps preparing for something. The 20th anniversary teaser visuals will be released sequentially over the next year.

The 20th anniversary costume “YOU AND Ai!” were also unveiled. Illustrations of idols wearing this new costume have been created for all 13 members of 765PRO ALLSTARS and three each from other brands. Additionally, 20th anniversary commemorative merchandises using these illustrations will be available for sale.

A new event “THE IDOLM@STER M@STER EXPO” will be held at Makuhari Messe International Exhibition Hall 1-3, the outdoor exhibition area and adjacent special venue on December 14 and 15, 2024 . Under the concept of “A huge iM@S event for everyone, where everyone gathers their ‘Ai’ and everyone creates together,” for the first time in the history of THE iDOLM@STER, “all kinds of things will be gathered together.

The game system in which players train idols as producers, and the game’s unique characters and music have been well received by many customers. The franchise has been developed in a variety of multimedia formats, including home video game software, radio, TV animation, mobile content, and stage events. In July 2025, the franchise will celebrate its 20th anniversary.The franchise includes: THE iDOLM@STER, THE IDOLM@STER CINDERELLA GIRLS, THE iDOLM@STER Million Live!, THE iDOLM@STER SideM, and THE iDOLM@STER SHINY COLORS.
