A little bird has come with news that a second season of rom-com anime A Couple of Cuckoos is officially in the works with a planned 2025 release date! A first special trailer and illustration was released on the series’ official accounts alongside the announcement.Production staff details for the second season were not announced at the time of reporting.

Based on the manga by Miki Yoshikawa, the first season of A Couple of Cuckoos was chief-directed by Hiroaki Akagi and directed by Yoshiyuki Shirahata at studios Shin-Ei Animation and SynergySP, with series composition by Yasuhiro Nakanishi, character designs by Aya Takano and music by Rei Ishizuka.Crunchyroll streamed all 24 episodes of the first season as they aired in Japan from April to October 2022, and describes the story:
On the way to meet his birth parents, super-student Nagi meets brash Erika, who needs a quick favor. Pose as her boyfriend at dinner so she can avoid an arranged marriage. But things get tricky once they realize they’re heading to the same spot, and her parents still want them wed. How does he ask out his school crush, keep his grades up, and hide his pending nuptials?
