Voice actor agency INTENTION announced today on July 31 that Kenichi Suzumura, who had gone into a break due to health issues since May of this year, will resume work. The agency was co-established by Suzumura himself in 2012.Back on May 16, the agency reported that Suzumura had been feeling ill and after a doctor’s diagnosis, it was determined that he needed to take a break from work. His recovery was considered the top priority, and the specific name of his illness has not been disclosed.The statement reads: “Kenichi Suzumura, who has been taking a break from work due to health issues, will resume work gradually, taking into consideration his health condition. Once again, we would like to express our sincere apologies to all of you who have always supported him, as well as to all parties involved, for any inconvenience and worry this may have caused. We hope that you will continue to support him in the future as well.”Suzumura is now 49. His well-known anime character roles include Shinn Asuka in Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny, Sougo Okita in Gintama, Obanai Iguro in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, and Yang Wenli in Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These.
