Ahead of a December 13 theatrical release in Japan, the upcoming live-action film adaptation of Akane Shimizu’s Cells at Work! today injected a quartet of essential cast members:

Killer T Cell played by Koji Yamamoto

Natural Killer Cell played by Riisa Naka

Macrophage played by Wakana Matsumoto

Platelet played by Maika Pugh

Hideki Takeuchi (Thermae Romae live-action film) directs the feature with a screenplay by Yuichi Tokunaga (Kaguya-sama: Love is War live-action film).

Akane Shimizu’s Cells at Work! manga was serialized in Kodansha’s Monthly Shonen Sirius magazine from January 2015 to January 2021 and released in six volumes. The TV anime adaptation aired for two seasons between 2018 and 2021. Crunchyroll streams both seasons and describes the series:
