The 18th volume of Yuto Suzuki’s Sakamoto Days manga launches today in Japan. To commemorate the occasion, the Shonen Jump YouTube channel released a special live-action trailer featuring an assassin versus a part-timer between the selves of a Japanese convenience store – as well as showing how good the noise canceling on headphones are!
Saori Izawa plays the part-time store clerk in the short, bringing her stunt work from the Kingdom films to Sakamoto’s convenience store of another world separate from the Sakamoto Days manga. Izawa said that she “had a lot of fun filming, putting on the green Sakamoto staff apron and doing action scenes at the convenience store. I hope you enjoy the extraordinary thrill that lies quietly within the every day.”
The original Sakamoto Days manga series, created by Yuto Suzuki, is serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump since November 21, 2020, with 18 collected volumes in Japan and 12 translated and released into English. The anime adaptation directed by Masaki Watanabe (Bartender) at TMS Entertainment premieres in January 2025, with Netflix to stream the series weekly.The series is released weekly on the Shonen Jump app and through VIZ Media, which who describes the series:
